Hand-Painted Articulated Crab Figure

Inspired by the real animal, this is an individually hand-painted figure of the shore crab, Pachygrapsus crassipes. The legs and claws are articulated so the model can be posed in a variety of lifelike positions. I sculpted the base figure digitally in 3D software and had it 3D printed. While the white model (also available in my shop) shows off the geometric details of the crab, this hand-painted version reflects my original vision, with all of the intricate shell markings of the real crab.
The figure has a 4.5" leg span with a shell width of 1.5". The base material is a durable textured nylon fused into form with Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) 3D printing.
As each figure is hand detailed and painted by myself, the crabs will have some natural variation from one another. There will only be a limited number available, as I hope to move on to other projects.
