Shore Crab - Articulated 3D Printed Sculpture

from $30.00
This fully posable shore crab (Pachygrapsus crassipes) is inspired by the handmade articulated Japanese sculptures of insects and crustaceans, 'jizai okimono' which were popular in the Meiji era. The default material is white nylon sintered plastic, which is relatively tough and can be painted with acrylic paints, or left unfinished.

This species of shore crab is commonly found in tide pools along the west coast of North America, where it scavenges for food. Its striking purple, red, and green coloration helps it camouflage itself among the varied algae growths and debris of the rocks.
